Being the eighteenth album, Anvil has made a pretty name for themselves, for heavy metal goers. Anvil attacks your sound systems, just like they’ve always done, yet again. Beginning with a slow and heavy track entitled, “This is Thirteen,” which is about as trademark for Anvil as it gets. By the second track, you should already be anticipating a mosh pit. Yes, that’s how much energy there is.
The consistency between tracks is impeccably well paced, easily making each song enjoyable in its own right. The venerated Anvil, yet again, adds another record eligible for any persons head bangers ball.
Initial Thoughts: Initially, I was excited and nervous to discover what they would return with. By the end of the first track any Anvil fan should anxiously anticipate each individual track, expecting nothing less than stellar metal riffs, beautiful melodic speed, periodic solos, and that classic Anvil sound.
Now: Utterly satisfied. Sellout wary fans, criticize elsewhere.
Best Track: Flying Blind seems to be an instant classic, in my book. The consistent drum beat, catchy chorus, and simplistic song structure makes for quite a catch.
